GPS based automatic spark detection system as per RDSO specification- TI/SPC/OHE/OLIVIR/0050
It is necessary to locate the spark and repair the damage. OLIVIR-G system facilitates automatic spark location. Automatic spark detection and location has become possible with latest technological advancement in digital video processing and Global Positioning System(GPS).
OLIVIR-G system consists of 5 main components:
AA web camera to capture the spark images.
A GPS (Global Positioning System) to capture the location coordinates (longitude, latitude and altitude).
A laptop computer to store the spark images and location information. It also shows the location coordinates and images in real time while recording. Compares the recorded location information with the previously stored mast locations and gives exact location of the spark with reference to two masts.
Data collection unit to record and store mast location information along a particular train route. This is a very compact hand held unit that is easy to carry on the route.
Digital Video Processing software to analyze the image information.
Once the system is located inside the train, it can record sparks and location while the train is running. The train speed can reach as high as 130kmph.
After recording, the computer will give the exact locations of the sparks with reference to mast numbers. It will also give the intensity of all the sparks.
There is also facility to filter out sparks of low intensity.
